This week on the watchLAB Weekly Reading List we’ve got the optimistic outlook of Millennials, the attractive factor for good leaders, the travelling work space, how much time we waste, and how to make sure you get everything done.

Here’s what I’ve been reading this week:

1) Millennials to Millionaires? Challenged but optimistic

Found on Forbes, by Laura Shin

It’s great to hear that Millennials, despite wars, recessions, and everything else in between, are feeling optimistic about the future, and even feeling that they’re going to be richer than the last generation. However, the reality that so many Millennials are still financially bound is slightly more sobering. Check out what Shin has to say about how challenged Millennials continue to look forward and up.

2) Mirror Mirror on the Wall . . .

Found on Harvard Business Review, by Kevin Kniffin

It’s a timeless question, whether beauty really does get you farther in life, but maybe there’s more to it than just physical attractiveness. Check out Kniffin’s more holistic view on “attractiveness” and how it applies to the workplace.

3) The changing space of work

Found on The Atlantic, by Alana Semuels

The world is not just cubicles and offices anymore. Semuels discusses the changing spaces of where and when we work and are most productive. For some it’s in open-spaced offices and for others it might be working from home. So ask yourself, where works best for you?

4) Wasting Away the Workday

Found on The Atlantic, by Bouree Lam

Have you ever stopped to think about what you’ve actually accomplished in a day? Check out Lam’s article on how much of our day is wasted by “interruptions” and other pesky things.

5) Getting to the Finish Line

Found on Inc., by Kevin Daum

With the end of the year quickly approaching we’re all feeling the crunch of getting everything done (especially with all that wasted time). Take a look at this 6 tips for making sure you finish all your tasks and still have some time leftover.

This is watchLAB saying, “Keep on reading, and have a great weekend.”
